Have I mentioned how much I HAAAAAAATE summer yet?

Because I do.

Remember when I said that my air-conditioner wasn’t working right? Well, an air conditioner repairman came out to the apartment complex to take a look at it. He said he couldn’t see anything wrong with it other than it was a few pounds low in freeon. He added some, and it was nice and cool in the apartment for a while.

Well now my air has stopped working completely I think. I don’t feel any cool air coming out of the vent in the hall and its sweltering in the house right now.
Its been pretty hot in the afternoons, but I thought it was just because its above 100 degrees outside. An air conditioner can only lower the air temperature 20 degrees cooler than the temperature outside. Or so I’m told.
We’re in the middle of a heat wave where I live. We’re always in them middle of a damned heat wave. Its been 103-105 all last week and the weekend. Its been forecasted to be 102-104 for the next 4 days too. But that’s not all…there is a heat index that makes the base temperature, that’s high already, feel like its 5-7 degrees hotter than it really is.

Life sucks when you live in hell, on the sun-bleached ass-crack bones of a fire demon.

And there is no rain in sight. We get a 10 percent chance for like 1 day this week. And that’s the first rain chance we have seen for almost 2 months now.
I really can’t stress how much I HAAAAATE summer.
As if the heat were not enough, my bills always get out of hand…because electric companies are bastards. They always raise the rates in summer….in a place known for being like a desert. How do they sleep at night? Then on the news you hear about people that go without air…because they can’t afford it…and they die. Not joking. That’s what happens. They think they can take the heat if they just have their windows open and use fans, but because of being old and not in the best of health…they die because of the heat.

My own bills go up, which makes getting food hard in summer.
I eat a lot of hot dogs usually, because they are on sale during summer. I can buy them and bread in bulk and freeze most of it until I need to thaw it and eat it.
But yeah…I have like 50 dollars for essentials for the rest of the month.
I paid all the rest of my bills for the month…always do. Somehow I have to save up 60 something dollars for car registration next month.
Times like these I begin to wonder, what’s worse, starving to death or baking to death – cause I’m doing both at the same time right now.

My cats are laying around, all heat exhausted with me. I felt their noses and paws…too warm. So I soaked both of them down in the tub. I massaged the water past their guard hairs until I was sure they were soaked down to the skin. I then towel dried them so they were good and damp but not sopping wet. They hate me right now…because they are cats and hate water…but I had to do something for them.
I’ve been laying in a heat induced coma on the couch for most of the night, my area fan my new best friend. Its just blowing hot air around from the house…but at least it’s a breeze I can control.

I have to wait until morning before the office will be open. I’ll let them know something is wrong…and hopefully my air will be back on before its 100 degrees outside for the day.
